milwaukee engagement session (haley + devin are engaged!)

May 20, 2010

What’s better than Michigan peaches?  Michigan friends!

Cazza + I first met Devin in the summer of 2006 when we were staying in Sawyer, Michigan by the beach, and Devin was hanging out with Caz’s family … multiple musical jams, DVD nights and movie quotes started a friendship that continues to grow!  Devin plays just about every instrument that there is and will play just about any tune you ask for … he is also a fine connoisseur of fine trucker’s hats + aviators … cha-ching!

So, when Devin told us that he had fallen in love with a girl named Haley, that they were going to be married this summer + that they both wanted us to be their photographers, naturally we danced for joy – so much info in such a short period of time!  The day finally came when Haley + Devin came to stay over at our place for a highly anticipated meet + greet {as Caroline + I had not yet met Haley}, an engagement shoot + just simply to hang out!  What a sweetheart she is!  Haley started out studying dance [and busted a few moves for us], but is now pursuing a nursing degree.  She had us in stitches with her “bridezirra” exclamations [referencing the early Godzilla films] + was just such a cool chicka-dee to hang out with!  From the get go, both Caz + I could see why Devin had asked Haley to marry him!

What was also super cool was Haley + Devin included Caroline + I in developing a ‘look’ for the big day {including the engagement shoot}!  This was a great time of ‘imagining’ in terms of styling the wedding party, which i know will be loads of fun to photograph!  Devin is NOT your average groom, in that he is keen to design his own look to be just as unique as Haley’s … he doesn’t want to do ‘the expected’!  We LOVE it when the couples that we ‘shoot’ let us be a part of the creative design process for their big day.

Guys, you make such a sweet couple, and Caroline + I couldn’t be happier that you are getting married!

Peace + salutations!
