sarah anne + filip are engaged!

March 21, 2010

The sun arrived with great rejoicing this last Friday past.  It is the beginning of Spring and all the animals are winking with gestures that imply, “How you doin’?!”  All of the Milwaukee snow has morphed into liquidy particles that have been soaked up by the earth, leaving a greenish brownish crust of flora and fauna that await the awakening of the steady Spring/Summer sun.  It is that perfect time of year … perfect for being outside.  Perfect for photo shoots.  Perfect for lemonade.  Perfect for ice-cream..

It was the common bond of Art History that united us with our new friends Sarah Anne + Filip on Friday.  Sarah Anne’s dad is an Art History professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where Caroline attended and graduated with an Art History degree.. Here lies the connection: Sarah Anne’s dad [Jim] mentored Michael, who also became a professor … Michael then mentored Caroline, and told Jim that Caroline takes nice pictures … and the Lion-King-esque circle of life [rather, circle of art historians] continues.  And now, Caroline must mentor a squire [… holds fingertips together and eyeballs the ceiling …]

Sarah Anne + Filip met through Teach for America, as they both currently live and work in Texas, and were just in Milwaukee over their spring break to, “do some weddin’ plannin’, y’all.”  Filip proposed to Sarah during a game of Scrabble, which was pretty much the coolest thing we’d ever heard, since we live + breathe Scrabble.. [We may or may not have the Acceptable Two Letter Word Chart in our bathroom … for your information, QI *is* a word!]

Sarah + Filip, you guys are a blast.. we’re so stoked you chose us, and we can’t wait to be a part of your big day in June!  Enjoy some highlights from our engagement photo shoot…
